Frequently asked questions

Do you have questions about pricing, support, or more? Check out the LSU UI/UX Design Bootcamp frequently asked questions.

What are the prerequisites for admission?

All backgrounds are welcome as long as you can demonstrate strong visual, creativity, and communication skills (which are critical on a cross-functional design team).

How does the admissions process work?
  • We are invested in helping you reach your career goals. Part of that commitment is making sure you know where to start, and which course is best to get you there.

  • The application process for the UI/UX Design Bootcamp is designed to evaluate a baseline of visual skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to empathize with users to synthesize and generate ideas. We're not looking for perfect answers—you're not a UI/UX design pro yet! We want to get a better sense of your instincts in each area.

  • Students must also demonstrate English fluency, as determined by initial interactions with the Admissions team.

  • In five simple steps, you can start your journey to a UI/UX Design career.

    • Submit your application: Fill out our application to get started. There is no application fee. It takes about a minute. You should expect a reply in 2-3 business days.

    • Fit Interview: Our admissions team requires an interview to establish a baseline of visual skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to empathize with users to synthesize and generate ideas.

    • Technical Skills Survey: This survey will not impact your admittance to the program, but will help us learn about your incoming experience with Javascript. We can then determine your ideal starting point in the program.

    • Reserve your spot: If you pass the fit interview and submit your technical skills survey, we will send you a registration link. Choose the start date and payment plan that works for you (we can help!)

    • Join the program: You'll be one of the select few applicants to secure a spot in the UI/UX Design Bootcamp. Congratulations!

Is this program full-time or part-time?

Our programs are designed to go “at your own schedule.” Most students spend 10 hours/week, but the program is asynchronous. So if you want to spend more time, you can finish it faster than average with the continued aid of our support teams.

How long does this course take?
  • Most students will complete the UI/UX Design Bootcamp in 9 months, devoting 10 hours/week.

  • You should expect to take the full 9 months, but can aim to complete in less time if you are:

    • Highly proficient in design thinking

    • Ready to devote more time per week to complete the curriculum materials

    • Driven and disciplined with managing your study schedule

Are these courses conducted online or in person?

The course is completely online. All you need is an internet connection.

What kind of support can I expect?

You’ll have support from:

  • Your mentor: A professional, industry expert will provide weekly 1:1 guidance and accountability in a 30-minute video call at a time that works for your busy schedule.

  • Community teaching assistants: Dedicated help when you’re stuck and detailed feedback on each project.

  • Career coaches: Your career coach will help with resume reviews, mock interviews, job search strategy, etc.

  • Student advisors: Our advisors will answer questions, discuss goals, and provide tips and support on any aspect of the program. And, finally, your classmates: You can form study groups, get feedback, and work on projects together!

Do I need to purchase any software to take a program?

All of the tools required to complete our programs successfully are included in the tuition.

How do I earn a certificate of completion?

You will receive a certificate of completion from Louisiana State University upon graduating. We also have an integration with LinkedIn, powered by Badgr, so you can display a verified certificate, or badge, on your LinkedIn profile.

How soon can I find a job?

The final module of the course focuses on career components. In this module, you'll work 1:1 with your career coach to create a successful job search strategy, build your network, craft a UI/UX design resume and LinkedIn profile, practice mock technical and behavioral interviews, debrief after actual job interviews, and negotiate your salary. We expect you can land a job as a UI/UX designer within six months of course graduation.

I need help with payments. Do you offer financing?

  • You can finance your tuition with a loan from our partner Climb Credit. If approved, you can start by paying as little as $70 - $188 per month. Your admissions advisor can provide more information.

How do the tuition payments work?

There are 3 payment options. Our two standard payment plans are:

  • Monthly Plan: You pay $1,550 per month, only for the months you're enrolled (most students complete within 9 months).

  • Upfront payment: You pay $12,555 upfront for 9 months. This is a 10% discount on the monthly plan.

  • Climb Credit loan*: Available by application to qualifying US citizens and permanent residents. If you are not a US citizen or permanent resident, you can still apply for financing with a fully qualifying co-borrower who is a citizen or permanent resident—as long as you both have a US address.
If approved, you pay a $500-$700 deposit to confirm your seat. You can finance the remainder through a loan. You’ll make small interest-only payments, $82 - $188, for the first 9 months. After that, you will pay 33 monthly payments ranging from $465 - $532.
Note: All charges will be in USD (based on the above prices). If you reside outside the U.S., this might carry an additional transaction fee, depending on the bank you use. We display prices in your local currency to give you an estimate of how much you will pay based on prevailing exchange rates, excluding transaction fees. *Please note: Lending might not be available in all 50 states - view Climb's full state eligibility list.
